From the stand to the conference hall: a week at the Novi Sad Fair

From May 16 to 21, we exhibited at the 93rd Novi Sad International Agricultural Fair, on the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina stand. After Dubai, Berlin, and Rimini, being on home ground felt good.

Agrarno proleće: the conference that was a long time coming

As part of the fair, the young Association of Female Agricultural Entrepreneurs of Serbia organized the “Agrarno proleće” (Agrarian Spring) conference on May 19, focused on women in agriculture — those of us who live in rural areas and work the land.

Vedrana was one of the panelists, alongside Ivana Marjanović (Aronija Marjanović) and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The conversation said out loud what should have been said long ago: women in rural Serbia need to be encouraged, they need to organize and connect, and — perhaps most importantly — the state needs to recognize them as a serious force in agriculture. Rural women have existed for centuries, but their work has traditionally been invisible because farming is still seen as a “man’s” world.

Vedrana knows this firsthand. She’s been ignored in meetings more than once simply because she’s a woman — even though she’s an equal partner in everything we do.

Next stop: Agrarno leto in Kać, June 30

The conversation doesn’t end in May. On June 30, we’re hosting Agrarno leto in Kać, where we’ll dig into this more concretely — focusing on practical steps female farmers can take to be more competitive on the market, with their own products and their own brand.

See you in Kać.
